Brain Chip

 A brief explanation of what a brain chip is and how it works.... 


Neuralink is a neurotechnology company founded in California in 2016 by Elon Musk and a group of engineers. Its main goal was to develop a brain-computer interface (BCI) that would directly connect the human brain and a computer. They named this device the Brain Chip. 

Initially, the company focused on helping people suffering from serious neurological diseases such as paralysis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The initial goal was to enable them to control computers and smartphones with their thoughts. Before testing on humans, Neuralink conducted extensive experiments by implanting its chips in animals. 

In 2020, Neuralink successfully implanted the chip in the brains of pigs.  As part of this experiment, the company demonstrated that it could read signals in the brain and understand the movements of a pig. In 2021, the chip was implanted in the brain of a monkey named Pager. The chip recorded Pager playing a video game using a joystick. Later, after changing the joystick, Pager was able to play the game using only his thoughts, which made a big news story. This experiment gave great hope for the technology's potential. After extensive research and various types of approvals, Neuralink obtained permission to conduct human trials. In 2023, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted Neuralink permission to conduct clinical trials in humans. In January 2024, the Neuralink chip was implanted in the brain of a 30-year-old paralyzed man named Noland Arbaugh. With this chip, Noland was able to control a computer mouse using only his thoughts, type using an on-screen keyboard, and play video games.  Musk has named this technology 'Telepathy'. Noland shared his experience with the world as the most defining moment in Neuralink's history.

Noland has stated that more people have been implanted with the chip since Arbo, and they are showing good progress, Musk has stated. Neuralink aims to implant the chip in at least 20-30 people this year. Currently, it is estimated that this technology will help restore their independence to paralyzed people.

Neuralink has also announced projects such as 'Blindsight' to give sight to the blind in the future. This technology is expected to help enhance human abilities and treat more diseases. However, research on its safety and long-term effects is still in progress..



Silk Road

 The Silk Road was an ancient trade route that stretched between the two great civilizations of Rome and China, through which goods and ideas were exchanged. It was not a single route from east to west, but a network of many routes that stretched over land and sea. Along with trade, this route also facilitated the development of science, technology, literature, art, and other fields of study.


Historians say that the Silk Road routes, which were established when the Han Dynasty of China officially began trading with the West in 130 B.C., were in use until A.D. 1453. It got its name from the strong silk trade that took place during that period. This valuable fabric originated in China. China had a monopoly on silk production until others gained the secret of its production. Silk traveled west along this trade route, and wool, gold, and silver traveled east.  In addition to these, the route facilitated trade in other textiles, spices, grains, fruits and vegetables, wood, metal products, precious stones, and other valuable goods.


As Roman territory in Asia gradually declined and Arab power grew in the Levant, the Silk Road became unsafe and travel ceased. The route was revived under the Mongols in the 13th and 14th centuries, when the Venetian Marco Polo used it to travel to Cathay (China). It is now widely believed that the bacteria that caused the Black Death pandemic in Europe in the mid-14th century spread primarily along this trade route.


The Ottoman Empire boycotted trade with China and closed these trade routes. Although the Silk Road had been used for international trade for about 600 years, these routes had a major impact on commerce, culture, and history.  This route also contributed to the spread of Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and other religions to various regions. Nestorian Christianity and Buddhism (from India) reached China via the Silk Road. In addition, these routes played a significant role in the formation of various cultures and cities in China, Japan, Egypt, Persia, and the Indian subcontinent. The route included a series of trading posts and markets that were used to facilitate the storage, transportation, and exchange of goods. Travelers along the maritime routes of the Silk Road stopped at ports for clean drinking water and trading opportunities, and trading centers grew up around these ports.


A section of the Silk Road still exists in the form of a national highway connecting Pakistan and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China.  Moreover, in 2013, China announced plans to revive the Silk Route under the name "One Belt, One Road", connecting more than 60 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Different types of Gearboxes

 The World of Gearboxes: Friends of Speed ​​and Comfort

If the car's engine is an athlete, the gearbox is the athlete's best 👟shoes. The main job of the gearbox is to deliver power and speed to the wheels accurately according to each situation. Let's get to know the important gearboxes in today's cars.


1️⃣ Manual Transmission (MT) - The Driver's Companion


Anyone who learns to drive a car is the first to get acquainted with this gearbox. This is the method of changing gears manually by depressing the clutch and using the gear lever. Many people like this the most because it gives the driver complete control over the vehicle.


🔵Invented: The first form of the modern manual gearbox was developed in the 1890s by Frenchmen Louis-René Panard and Emile Levasseur.


🔧Maintenance: The maintenance cost is very low compared to others.  The main cost is changing the clutch.


2️⃣. IMT (iMT - Intelligent Manual Transmission) - Manual without a clutch


iMT is for those who want the fun of a manual gearbox and the convenience of an automatic. There is no clutch pedal in this, but you have to change the gear yourself. The sensors will recognize it as soon as you touch the gear lever and operate the clutch automatically. You can avoid having to step on the clutch in city traffic.


🟢Invented/Popularized: This technology was recently popularized in India by Hyundai and Kia.


🛠Maintenance: It also costs the same maintenance as a regular manual gearbox.


3️⃣. AMT (AMT - Automated Manual Transmission) - Automatic for the common man


As the name suggests, this is an automated form of a manual gearbox.  Clutch actuation and gear shifting are done by an electronic unit and motors. Therefore, the manufacturing cost is low. AMT has helped in making automatic cars affordable to the common man. One of its limitations is that a slight jerk is felt while changing gears.


🟣Invented/Popularized:


Although this technology first came in supercars like Ferrari, Maruti Suzuki made it widespread in regular cars in India under the name "Auto Gear Shift" (AGS).


🪛🔩Maintenance: Costs less. Only slightly more than manual.


4️⃣ Torque Converter - The King of Comfort


This is the oldest and most reliable automatic gearbox. Instead of a clutch, it transfers engine power to the gearbox through a fluid coupling.  So the gear change will be very smooth. This is the best for city trips.


🟡Invented:


It was popularized by the American company General Motors (GM) in the 1940s under the name "Hydra-Matic".


🗜🔧Maintenance: Very reliable. Since the possibility of major breakdowns is low, the maintenance cost can be said to be medium.


5️⃣. CVT (CVT - Continuously Variable Transmission) - The companion of mileage


CVT is called a 'gearless gearbox'. It works using a belt that moves between two corners. Therefore, there are no jerks or gaps during gear shifts. It is characterized by a very smooth ride and good mileage.


🟤Invented: It was first used in cars by the Dutch car manufacturer DAF in the 1950s.  Today, it is widely used by Japanese companies such as Honda, Nissan, and Toyota.


🔧🔨Maintenance: Usually low cost. But if there is a major breakdown, the cost of replacement will increase.


6️⃣. DCT/DSG/DCA - the last word in speed


This is a high-speed gearbox with dual clutches. One clutch controls the odd-numbered gears (1,3,5) and the other clutch controls the even-numbered gears (2,4,6). When you drive in one gear, the next gear is always ready. So gear changes can be made at lightning speed. This is the best for those who want sporty performance.


🔴Invented: It was popularized in Porsche race cars and later in regular cars by the Volkswagen Group (under the name DSG).


 🔩⚒🪛Maintenance: This is the most complex technology in this group. Therefore, maintenance is likely to be expensive.


🗞In short, you can choose the best one according to your needs: manual to enjoy driving, iMT for a little convenience along with the fun of manual, AMT for a pocket-friendly automatic, torque converter for a comfortable ride, CVT for better mileage, and DCT for sporty performance.



sodium chloride

 Sodium is a highly reactive metal and chlorine is a toxic gas. But when they combine, they form sodium chloride (table salt), an element that is essential for life. The reason behind this is that when a chemical reaction takes place, elements lose their unique properties and are transformed into compounds with new properties.


In a chemical reaction, new chemical bonds are formed between atoms. In the case of sodium chloride, this is an ionic bond. The sodium atom (Na) is prone to losing an electron in its outermost shell. When this happens, it becomes a positively charged ion or cation (Na+). On the other hand, the chlorine atom (Cl) is an element that is very eager to accept an electron. When it accepts an electron, it becomes a negatively charged ion or anion (Cl −).  When sodium combines with chlorine, the sodium atom transfers one of its electrons to the chlorine atom. By transferring electrons, both atoms complete their outer shells and reach a more stable state. The positive (Na 

+) and negative (Cl −) ions that result from this transfer are strongly attracted to each other, forming a crystal lattice. In this new structure, the unique properties of sodium and chlorine are lost, and a compound called sodium chloride with completely different properties is formed.


Sodium chloride is an essential compound for our body. It plays an important role in maintaining the balance of fluids in the body, the proper functioning of the nervous system, and muscle movement. Therefore, sodium chloride has become an important ingredient in our food. This example illustrates how, through a chemical reaction, two dangerous elements can be transformed into a compound that is indispensable to human life.



Strong hybrid vehicle

 Strong hybrid vehicles have an engine and an electric motor. The main feature of this is that the electric motor can drive the car on its own.


This strong 'hybrid' vehicle can operate in three modes


Using the electric motor only (electric mode)


At low speeds, in traffic or when parking, the car moves forward completely with the help of the electric motor. At this time, the engine is turned off. This reduces fuel consumption


Using the engine only (engine mode)


When traveling at high speeds, the petrol engine mainly works and the electric motor only provides assistance when needed. 


Using the engine and electric motor (hybrid mode)


When more speed is needed, for example when accelerating, the petrol engine and electric motor work together. This gives the car more power and torque.


 The Strong Hybrid system has three methods for charging the battery used to power the electric motor


Regenerative braking


When the vehicle is driving, when the accelerator is released and the brakes are applied, the electric motor of this vehicle acts as a generator and the energy generated by the vehicle's wheels turning the generator is stored in the battery


Charging through the engine


When the vehicle is cruising (when going at a constant speed) or when the engine is running excessively, the excess energy coming from the engine is used as a generator by the electric motor to charge the battery.


Coasting or downhill driving


When the vehicle is going downhill or braking lightly,

the motor again becomes a generator and charges the battery.


A Strong Hybrid car charges its battery without having to plug it in from the outside through these three methods.

The sun rise first in India

 Where does the sun rise first in India?

The sun rises first in India in the Dong Valley or Dong Valley in the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh. Dong Valley is located in the area that shares the border with China and Myanmar. This small village in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh sees the first sunrise in India. After about two hours of trekking, you will reach Dong Valley. This is where the sun rises first in India. Sunrise here is at 2 am. This village is located on the eastern edge of India, close to the border of China and Myanmar.

This valley is located at the confluence of the Lohit and Sati rivers. Dong is a small village located at an altitude of about 1,240 meters above sea level. This village is located at a distance of about seven kilometers from Walong, at the confluence of the Lohit and Sati rivers.

The Land of India's First Sunrise In 1999, the Dong Valley was recognized as one of the first places in India to see the sunrise. This earned the village the nickname "Land of the Rising Sun". The sunrise in the Dong Valley during the Millennium Sunrise on January 1, 2000, gained world attention.

Breathtaking natural beauty

The scenic beauty of the Song Valley is one of the specialties of the Song Valley. The vast grasslands and dense pine trees make this valley even more beautiful. This place is also very exciting for bird watchers. More than 500 different species of birds can be seen in this valley. Many different birds like hornbills, red-billed ibis, yellow pigeons and many more can be seen here.

The Dong Valley is mainly inhabited by the Mayor tribe along with the Mishmi tribe.  Idu Mishmi, Digaru Mishmi, and Miju Mishmi are all part of the Mishmi tribe. Visitors can experience the traditions, daily life, and hospitality of these tribes.



Gulf of Alaska

 There is a phenomenon in the Gulf of Alaska where two oceans meet, but they do not really mix, but remain separate. The image of this phenomenon is very popular on social media. This has led to a lot of debate in the scientific world.


Why do they not mix?


There are two main reasons behind this phenomenon:


1) Difference in water density

The water in one part of the Gulf of Alaska is fresh water that is formed by melting ice. Fresh water has a lower density than salt water. Therefore, the less dense fresh water does not mix easily with the more dense salt water. The two remain separate.

2) Difference in water temperature

The two ocean waters have different temperatures. Cold water and warm water do not mix quickly. This helps to keep them separate.

3) Presence of soil:

The water that melts from glaciers in Alaska contains a large amount of soil and other minerals.  This water has a special color. Iron is also found in this water. However, its presence in ocean water is very low. Therefore, water containing iron stands on one side and water without it stands on the other.


It is unlikely that there will be a boundary line separating these two oceans. However, due to the difference in the chemical properties of the water, a phenomenon can be seen here where they do not mix easily. This is not a permanent phenomenon, but temporary. When there are strong winds and waves, these two waters will eventually mix.
